1-2-3 tomato sauce

Scatter 3 pints grape tomatoes and 2 cloves garlic, sliced, in jelly-roll pan; toss with 2 tablespoons olive oil and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Roast at 450 degrees F. for 30 minutes, until very soft, stirring once. Meanwhile, cook 1 pound pasta. When tomatoes are done, crush with back of spoon; stir in 1/2 to 2/3 cup pasta cooking water, then toss with pasta for 8 servings.
