Project Pinterest - Homemade Window Cleaner

I've always been intrigued with homemade products that are, nowadays, typically bought at the store.

You know....soap, laundry detergent, and of course window cleaner.

I came across the blog, Crunchy Betty, that had tried and tested a handful of window cleaner recipes.

Naturally, I tried the winner of her home test!

The first time I used it, it was not impressive.

But then I learned that I needed to wipe my mirrors and windows dry.

That made it Awesome!

Now when I need window cleaner, not only am I saving a trip to the store which equals time and gas, I'm saving money, and it's made from items in my pantry...mostly.

Win-Win-Win!

Project Pinterest - Stairway Gallery

I'm waiting to post my project for the week for two reasons...

1. I haven't photographed it yet and now I need to wait for halfway decent lighting.

2. My inspiration pin doesn't have a link to the original source. And I'm not going to use a picture without giving credit. 

Well, I could not, for the life of me, find the original source of the image I wanted to share with you. So I found this one instead, as it's fairly close to the other one. It comes from The Creative Imperative.

Here's my take on the stairway gallery...except mine isn't done yet.
I still have some 'holes' to fill, but can't decide if I want more pictures or decorations of some sort.

I'm excited to see what all of you have been up to, you crafty divas you!

Paint by Numbers?

Our house numbers were looking a little worn, so instead of spending $2.50 per number ($10 total), I bought some gold spray paint for $2.97 and fixed them! And I'm going to use the same gold to spruce up the hardware on our bathroom cabinets.




...you can't really see them from the road very well, so I may go back and buy a darker color.

Painter's Helper

Last night I started the daunting task of painting our kitchen. (which will be followed by the living room, hallway and Breck's room) And of course, Breck wanted to help! So, I put some water in a clean peanut butter jar, gave him a paint brush and told him he could "paint" a wall.

He thought that was pretty cool. So, he painted a mountain.
(at least that's what he told me!)

I managed to get two coats on above our cabinets. And I finished the third coat this morning.
