Graduation Day

Yes, Breck had a kindergarten graduation.
I think it must be a Texas thing...because it's certainly not an Iowa thing or Kansas thing.
...anyway, he really wanted to go so we did.

It was on the last day of school and they made a pretty big production out of it.
First the kids...all 150 of them...marched in and around through the main aisle.

Then they came back into the gym class by class and every. single. child's name was read and they were each handed a "diploma", which must have just been a fancy wrapped piece of copy paper, because Breck came home without it.

And after the diplomas they came back again to sing six songs...four of which had nothing to do with kindergarten or school in general.

They sang:
Rockin' Robin
Sing, Sing a Song...led by Karen Carpenter
Yellow Polka Dot Bikini...I'd like to know who selected this one.
Splish Splash
Kindergarten Class... viewable below
Goodbye

Here's a shot of all the kids.

I'd also like to thank the only "cowboy" who felt the need to leave his big hat on during the entire program.
...from what I've heard, he was probably from East Texas.

  3. How fun for him! That is a lot of kindergarteners. Wow! I cracked up at the Yellow Polka-Dot bikini song. HAHA!!!! That is very comical for a kindergarten class to sing. The teacher must like it. LOL! Now it's off to 1st grade!!!!!
