Creative Recycling: Cereal Boxes

While I nurse Rowan, I often surf the web using Stumble Upon. (I accidentally spamed my entire contact list with an invite from their page...I thought I was doing something else! Sorry!) Recently, I've been "stumbling upon" some pretty neat sites about recycling everyday things. Surprisingly, there are a lot of things you can do with cereal boxes and the plastic bags in which the cereal comes! Here are my top 3 4 favorites:

1. Various ways to reuse the plastic liners (tin foil, move over!)

2. Spin art

3. Magazine holders

4. Edit: Here's another project: Backseat Box. This one I plan to make and take with us on our next road trip to Iowa!

5. Edit (8/21): And another: Gift Box

Seth and I try pretty hard to recycle everything we can. So, I'll be making a post of this kind every week, featuring a different household trash item that can be creatively repurposed! Any suggestions on what item(s) of "trash" you'd like to see featured?

And if you just can't wait to start creatively recycling, go here: Recycle This. It's brilliant!

Next Week: Plastic Lids

  2. We did the spin art last night. My son had so much fun; he CRIED when we ran out of paint!
