A Day at Great Grandma and Grandpa's

...with cousins and aunts and uncles...

oh my!

While we were in Iowa, we made the "rounds" which always includes visiting my paternal grandparents!

And much to our delight, my sister and brother went with us and my aunt and uncle both came up with their kids to visit, too!

It was almost like a holiday!

Great Grandma snuggled with Rowan as much as possible...

the younger kids had tractor races...

and Rowan was even able to ride one, too!

They played in the sandbox...

and the playhouse.

And what's a summer get-together without fun in the sprinklers?!

I even had a failed attempt at a photo shoot with Rowan...
(isn't that chair just the cutest?!)

We had a ton of fun jam packed into what felt like a very short visit.

I'm so thankful that I still have these grandparents here on earth and that my kids can experience the same carefree fun, exuding love and unnecessary fussing that all family receive when they step through their door.

  1. How exciting! I love the playhouse and what a beautiful piece of property your grandparents live on. Oh to live like that. I'm so glad y'all were all able to get together and enjoy some time with each other.
