Track & Field

Over the weekend we went to the Kansas City Hot Air Balloon Festival.
(lots of pics to come from that!)

It was held at a sports complex/high school and much to our delight, Seth found that the track was open!

See Breck?

No?
Look for a single white speck across the track.

That kid was a running fool!
I think this was lap 3 or 4:

When all was said and done, he ran - yes, ran - 2 miles!
Seth timed him on a couple laps and assuming he kept the same pace, which it sure looked like he did, then he averaged a 12 minute mile.
I think that's pretty awesome for a 4 year old!

To answer your question - no, he did not sleep any better than normal.

Rowan was more interested in playing on and around the bleachers.
This is the only shot I managed to get of her - I was too concerned she might fall, even though she was convinced it would never happen.

But what kind of blogger/amateur photographer would I be if I didn't show you a shot or two of those bleachers?!

There are a ton of hot air balloon photos to come this week...
...stay tuned!

  7. Funny ! I think that when I have kids I'm going to let them run laps like that ! It's a great way to spend their energy. I loved your shots.
