Update on Our Church Shopping

I just realized it has been 7 months since I posted about our church shopping.

We found one.
It didn't take us seven months, though!

If you missed my first church shopping post, you can read that here.

We started out going to the smaller baptist church for about a month or two. Then we decided it was time to get involved with one of their small groups.
There was no one - and I mean No. One. - who was in the same life stage as us.
Not to say we can't be friends with people who are not, but it's very important for us to connect with those who are.

That was sometime around Thanksgiving.

And we didn't go back.

In fact , we just didn't go anywhere for the remainder of 2009. A series of out-of-town weekends kind of spun us into that rut.

But, a new year brought us back to the search.
We decided to start at COR Methodist (aka: mega church) considering the one sermon we heard was fantastic!

And we've been there ever since.
It is amazing how much they do to make the church family as small-feeling and personal as possible!

We recently finished the Lenten series: 24 Hours That Changed the World. It was a 6 week course on the final 24 hours of Jesus' earthly life. And it was eye-opening to say the least.
I think it is no coincidence that at the time we were particiapting in this course, I was in the midst of reading Exodus through Numbers. I was finding those books somewhat difficult to read, as a lot of it is repetitive and hard to correlate to life today. However, I realized the importance of it and how it directly relates to the crucifixion of Jesus. Let's just say I had more than a handful of "Ah-ha!" moments!

We just started the Alpha course and I'm sure we'll gain something meaningful from it, too.

It sure is nice to finally feel at home!
