365*-244: Duck Watching

365-243: Tuna Tower

Breck made this lovely "castle" today!

A New Park

Today we finally did something fun!
Saturday while attempting to garage sale (we only made it to one) we found a cool new park!
It has a pond, bridges, ducks, a playground, walking trail, several docks and a glorious view of Hwy 69 traffic!

In order to get to the playground, you must go over a bridge:

and there you'll find all your ducks in a row.

the kids had a blast at the playground and we were the only ones there!
(where are all the sahm?! seriously!)

This playground was excellent for Rowan!
The walkways up top all had bars on them so the kids can't walk off the edge.
Since this safe feature was available, I let Rowan help herself to some fun.

She climbed up the steps,

and went down some slides, including the tornado slide!

and Breck was waiting at the bottom to catch her.

Breck found a face hole

and Rowan learned about cogs

I think the Lloyd kids have claimed this as their ground

...especially Rowan

Another Potty Training Update

We've had a week of potty training and I'd say Breck's doing pretty well. Some days he will go on his own and it's no big deal. Other days, he needs lots of asking and prompting. He has done very well while we're out shopping. In most cases, he tells me that he needs to go.

But this morning he had an "accident" on the floor in the upstairs hallway. When I asked him why he didn't walk 10 more feet to go in the potty, he mumbled:

"Um, well....Rowan....um, um....um....I had to fix this!"

Boy Crazy

Rowan may be a bit of a tomboy, but she is also a little bit boy crazy. Each and every time we pass a cute high school boy, she stares.
For instance - we were at Walmart and a boy passed us.
What did Rowan do?
She stared as he approached and then stared as he walked away. Making sure to check out all sides very thoroughly.

One Scary "Mother"

This past Sunday night, Breck and I did some deals shopping at Walgreens.
The trip itself was rather uneventful - everything I went for was in stock, Breck was good, things went well.

As we were heading to the car (keep in mind it was dark) I couldn't find my keys. So, Breck and I hung out right in front of the store where the most light was and I dug through my bag, removing every. single. item. and eventually found them.

As I found the keys, an SUV pulled up right next to our car. The woman driver went into the store and the man in the passenger's seat stayed in the car. As Breck and I were walking to get into our car, the man - a grown man, possibly twice my size - hit the lock button. As if to signal that a young, average sized woman and her three year old (who looks like a two year old) were quite menacing and were very likely to car jack him. Or at least beat him up and take his money.

I had to laugh.
