Night of the Living Smells

Last night our family went out for dinner to a local pizza place. Breck ate 2 1/2 adult-sized slices of extra cheese pizza...this is about 5 times the amount he normally eats...in one sitting! Seth and I were pretty pleased that our picky little guy was enjoying his pizza and sitting at the table being excellently behaved! A Christmas miracle indeed!

When it was time for bed, Breck said: "Mommy, my tummy is really full!" I just laughed since I couldn't imagine it being anything other than that given the sheer volume of calories and cheese he consumed just a few hours earlier!

Then, in the middle of the night, like clockwork, Breck was standing at the side of our bed. But, something was a bit...off. He was kind of crying/whimpering and when I put my hand on his head to calm him, I felt something wet and spongy in his hair.

It was cheese. Extra cheese.

So, I hopped out of bed to evaluate the situation and upon seeing the horror that was his sheets, I knew reinforcements were necessary. Poor, poor Seth. As if the other day wasn't enough, he now had to help with vomit! Let's just say that I'm the one with the strong stomach and the smell knocked me on my butt was overpowering even for me!

So, Seth gave Breck a bath while I tended to the sheets. I sprayed Oust Surface & Air - the blue kind that smells least like chemical cover-up - (no, I'm not being paid to say this) - in the air and on the mattress and in the bathroom and on the carpet. So, now our upstairs smells a bit like that of a seedy nursing home, minus the mothballs.

...I can only imagine what will happen next...
