A Good Friday

It was a good day!

This morning was pretty normal: kids up earlier than I'd like to be, changed diapers, ate breakfast, etc.

But the best part (for me) was being able to drink my coffee and do the crossword puzzle from today's paper!

It doesn't happen often that I really have time to sit down (or in this morning's instance, lean on the kitchen counter) to do this, so it was a nice treat!

After breakfast, I went out and picked blackberries while the kids played inside.

I got two big strainers full of berries!
I can already taste the sweet-tarty jam!!!

While Rowan took her first nap, I mowed the backyard.
(I mowed the front and side yesterday afternoon. hot hot hot!)

For lunch I made myself a BTC sandwich (bacon, tomato, cheese), which I'm thinking I should have taken a picture of, as they are simply delicious!
(The kids, on the other hand, had pb sandwiches and mac & cheese.)

In the early afternoon the kids and I went to Walmart!
(I know what you're thinking - "an exclamation mark, really?!")
But oh was it fun!
We got the kids new toothpaste and toothbrushes,
(Breck got Spongebob toothpaste, so now maybe he'll stop running when I try to brush his teeth!)
stopped to say "hi!" to the fish,
checked the clearance aisle for things we couldn't live without,
(they didn't have those things out yet, apparently)
I picked up some Rollback yarn,
browsed through the toy department,
watched small bits of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Ratatouille
(they were playing on the display televisions)
picked up some groceries including marshmallows and graham crackers,
(can you guess what we'll be making soon?!)
and since Breck was mostly good throughout our trip, he was rewarded with a ride on the "cow" at the front of the store!
(it's really a bull.)

See, wasn't that exciting?

Once we got home Rowan took her second nap.
Breck played his computer games and I took some time to whip up a couple granny squares!

Seth got home this evening and grilled us yummy steak and veggies!

Then he and Breck headed out to the Riley County Fair at 8pm.
Rowan and I stayed home since 8pm is her bedtime.

Breck took the camera with him, so I'm hoping to have oodles of fantastic photos of all sorts of animals to share with you tomorrow!
